Babies In Spirit

For those who have been forced to have a pregnancy terminated or had a baby still born it can be a very traumatic time which some never fully overcome. Here in the UK one in four women have a miscarraige , 17 babies are still born or die soon after birth every day ( 6500 deaths a year approx) . Years ago it seemd to be the practise to act as if nothing had ever happened and it had all been a bad dream. Hospitals would remove the baby from the mother along with any reference to it and the mother would be left often in a confused state, taking years to overcome her grief. However over the years commonsense and compasion have taken over with footprints, handprints, if possible a lock of hair and sometimes even a photo of the babies being given to the families as keep, with some hospitals also having a book of " rememberence".

Here in West Lothian we have a chappel based in our local general hospital with a chaplain who can conduct services for those who may wish to avail themselves of their services. Certainly the provision of counciling at the hospital for those bereaved in this manner is a major step in the correct path with compasion and understanding being given to those who need it.

So what happens to those babies who have not lived a full life on earth?

For reasons we aren`t to know at the time, the babies departure form the earth world is all part of the " greater plan" and part of the learning curve some of us are here to experience . Once the baby moves into the spirit world a spirit relative , normally the grandparents are waiting for its arrival. The baby will be looked after and cared for by the relatives in the spirit world who will give it love and help to develop where it will live and learn in the " halls of wisdom" within the world of spirit. The spirit child gows and develops at the same pace as if it were here on the earth plane. The bond between it and its earth mother and family never disapear and often the spirit child will return and be in and around its earth family. Often mothers will feel the child`s presence with them at certain times. The child will never be forgotten by its earth family and thoughts to it in the spirit world will be received speedily keeping the link between both worlds intact.

Often when visiting the earth family sometimes the children will play mischevious tricks on their earth families , moving articles and all the general naughty antics associated with children of that age group. A favourite is moving keys , small objects switching on electrical appliances as if by magic!

This is for the fun element as they seek to play with "their family" and also to make us think , what`s happened? how did things move / appear / change etc so that we are aware there has been a visitation .

As the sprit children grow the bond between them and their earth familes never disapears and when the time is right they will be there to meet and greet their earth family as they rejoin them in the spirit world when it is their time to return to spirit from the earth plane. As we here would grieve and be full of sorrow at the loss / parting , they in the spirit world would be full of rejoicing at having their loved ones unite with them in the spirit world..
