A brief introduction to Braid House and its services
Established in the former Health Centre in the Howden district of Livingston Braid House opened its doors as a Day Care Centre in 1980. Several rooms offer various activitities to the daily visitors including a hairdresser, a reflexoligist, chiropodist, library, art room and a large day room .
Bus drivers Michael and Peter assisted by Julie and Liz call and collect the daily visitors to Braid House, where manager Anne Forrester and her team aim to provide a friendly enviroment offering warmth and good food to those visiting the centre to partake of its excellent facilities.
Some of the services offered are hairdressing, chiropody, showers, library, art room and a large day room.
Meanwhile behind the scenes the beautiful aroma wafting through the kitchen leads us to head cook Flora Nicol assisted by Shirley , Janet and June who cook freshly prepared meals daily, served to the appreciative visitors in the large dining room.
Senior care assistant Maureen Taylor and her team John, Lyndsey, Valerie, Kath and Elaine play an important part in working hard to look after the visitors needs during their visit to Braid House
Providing valuable assistance to Anne in overseeing the activities in Braid House run smoothly are assistant manager Jackie Hutton, helped by Christine Moore who looks after the administrational duties of the centre and is often the first person a visitor meets when arriving at Braid House
